big ticket items

February has brought a new dynamic, with ostensibly Patriot missiles downing many aircraft.
  • The picture is never precise. For example, it is hard for Oryx to get visual data on aircraft that fall on rascist territory, as that information will tend to be under tight control.
  • Smaller sunk ships are still not accessible for wreck dive tours and identification...
  • These are areas where the visually confirmed will underestimate reality to a greater extent.

  • Reporting via social media (in particular when rascists admit to downings via friendly fire [sic]), UA MoD reporting, open source satellite analysis require an adjusted perspective.
  • Incidents such as damage of A-50 in Belarus (considered under repairs), are also pertinent as they introduce notions of presumed unavailable - highly pertinent regarding big ticket items.
  • Data is mainly drawn as of 02-2024. Elements under refit/repairs are considered operational, giving rascia the benefit of doubt their can render them operational through cannibalisation, innovative use of haywire and band-aids...
  • This excludes issues or analysis of maintenance, age & reliability, cannibalisation for parts...

  • It appears the older items are not being put in harm's way. Many bombers are reaching the age of 50. A large cross-section of fighters are reaching their forties...
  • Recent models (which are limited in number) also seem to avoid harm's way
  • Given the context, the operational units would be a maximum figure. Su-34 are still numerous enough to launch KAB (Russian FAB air-dropped bomb). However, their intensity will be gradually attrited.
